The wait is over. We were still in wonderment of the ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’ first trailer. Now the second one has hit the web to get us all bedazzled. Mani Ratnam has not only built upon the strength of the first one, but he has also amped up a lot of curiosity for the feature.

AR Rahman’s ‘Sevandhu pochu nenju’ score is the lifeline of the second trailer. Stylised to compliment the visuals, this second trailer is a visual feast. A rhythmic monologue beginning by STR, the trailer seamlessly flows towards exposing the characters efficiently. The trailer also gives us a fair idea of what the movie will be, a battle between brothers to the throne of ‘periyavar’.

A determined STR, charismatic Arun Vijay, an alpha Arvind Swamy, and a casual Vijay Sethupathi sure live up to the hype as a hot concoction of an ensemble cast. They also fume up the trailer with their intensity and their ambitious drive for succeeding their father just oozes out throughout the trailer. Needless to say, the second trailer is much more intense and gripping than its predecessor.(And seriously, does anyone get reminded of the popular western game Red Dead Redemption?)

Santhosh Sivan’s cinematography in the film is something to look out for going by how the trailers have come out. Not to mention Sreekar Prasad’s cuts and transitions, the visuals are smooth and impressive. And AR Rahman’s score gets much more depth and verve combined with the visuals. This film which is directed by Mani Ratnam is being bankrolled by himself and Subaskaran.
