COVID 19 affected celebrity involved in hospital bed controversy passes away

A few days back popular news anchor and stage and film actor T.V. Varadharajan posted a video stating that one of his friends who is also a celebrity was affected by the coronavirus and the family could get a hospital bed in Chennai and were turned down due to patient overflow. The TN health minister C. Vijayabaskar retaliated by filing cases against Varadharajan for propagating false news about the pandemic situation and claimed that there were a sufficient number of beds in all private and government hospitals in Chennai.

Varadharajan then had to retract his words in a new video in which he praised the measures taken by the government in curbing the coronavirus spread.

It has now been reported that the celebrity that Varadharajan referred to is famous chef Chellappa who has passed away today. It is said that the veteran is one of the leading stalwarts in the food industry in Chennai and has conducted thousands of grand weddings. Chellappa was also renowned for cooking free meals for Lord Ayyappan devotees and the Mylapore residents would miss him sorely.
