Pavithra Balajee, an aspiring singer from Chennai, is the only participant from Tamilnadu to be selected among the top 30 in the YouTube reality show “ARRived.”

ARRived, India’s first YouTube Originals, is a musical reality show where A. R. Rahman, Shah Rukh Khan, Shaan, Clinton Cerejo, and Vidya Vox search for India’s next singing superstar. The winner gets a singing debut in Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film Zero.

Pavithra gushed with excitement when she got the opportunity to perform for a national/international audience in the presence of the legendary maestro, A.R. Rahman. “Receiving a video call from the judges announcing the selection was an unforgettable moment for life.  Rahman Sir’s facial expressions are the toughest to predict,” says Pavithra Balajee.

She thanks her parents and her carnatic music mentor for their unconditional support in her pursuit. Her grandfather, D.B. Ramachandran is a famous music director, whose composition “Vinayagane Vinai Theerpavane” is an evergreen classic. She has over 25 YouTube videos in her Channel – “Pavithra Balajee.” She has been hosting a weekly podcast “Pavithra Balajee’s Tarangam” in Raaga Talk – Raaga.com.

We wish the talented girl good luck on her journey through her next levels in ARRived, and in producing more YouTube videos featuring her own cover songs and compositions.
