The divorce issue between Jayam Ravi and his wife, Aarti Ravi, has been a major topic of discussion in the media over the past few months. In this context, singer Kenishaa Francis had posted certain comments regarding Aarti Ravi on social media and in media outlets.
Aarti Ravi filed a lawsuit in the Chennai High Court, stating that spreading defamatory comments about her damaged her reputation and caused her immense mental agony.
After hearing the case, the judge accepted Aarti Ravi’s arguments and issued the following orders:
An interim injunction has been granted, restraining singer Kenishaa Francis from speaking or publishing any defamatory comments against Aarti Ravi.

The court pointed out that while the couple’s divorce case is pending in court, it is not legally acceptable for a third party to put forward such personal criticisms.
The court deemed this restraining order necessary to protect Aarti’s private life and her reputation.
After Jayam Ravi announced his decision to divorce, various rumors surfaced regarding the friendship between him and singer Kenishaa. While providing clarifications, Kenishaa had shared some opinions regarding Aarti Ravi as well. This became the primary reason for this legal battle.

The current restraining order issued by the court is seen as a check on defamatory campaigns launched against individuals on social media. The next hearing for this case is scheduled to take place soon.
