Banners have been a inseparable aspect of star culture in the state. Be it a political event or a new fillm release of a major star, fans and followers celebrate it by installing banners and cut outs at public places.

However, the Chennai High court has now imposed a ban on the usage of banners of living persons. This move by the high court comes in the backdrop of a case filed by Triloshna Kumari of Arumbakkam.

What this decision means is that people cannot put banners in buildings and residential complexes uneccessarily. This sure comes off as a disappointing news to fans of Vijay, Ajith, Rajini and Kamal who have always celebrated the banner culture around film releases.
