Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has on Wednesday stated in the Lok Sabha that his government has been taking steps to curb the "menace" of pornography, especially child and revenge pornography. Towards this effect, coordinated measures have been taken up by the Centre, the states and police departments across the country.

"Child pornography is definitely a serious menace, so also revenge pornography. We are taking a lot of measures in order to end the menace. I submit to the House that the Centre, state governments and police are working together to curb ii," Prasad said.

Since 2015, the Modi government has targetted vast numbers of illegal porn sites that hosted child pornography, among other banned hues.
