Child trafficking sees a toll in Hyderabad

Child trafficking in Hyderabad is seeing a rise in Hyderabad. On Tuesday, seven people were arrested in Hyderabad for trafficking around 26 children from different states and engaging them as labourers. This issue was seriously taken up by the Hyderabad Police on Tuesday.

The information which was received by the cops is that children in the age group of 12 to 17 were detained and engaged as labourers, and so, the police teams have conducted raids at various places on Monday and rescued 23 boys and three girls from trafficking.

The rescued children are from states like Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Telangana. Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh Bhagawat said.

All the children who were rescued from the trafficking were trafficked by the owners themselves who are of course the accused. The children were detained in sheds located within the premises of their workshops like timber depots, furniture shops, hotels, vehicle mechanic shops and plastic scarp shops, etc.

This issue is take up seriously by the police of Hyderabad and they are looking forward to getting hold of many of such groups.
