After Vishwambhara, Chiranjeevi had reportedly given his commitment only to Anil Ravipudi and Srikanth Odela — or so it was believed until recently. But now, there’s official clarity. Just like the earlier Waltair Veerayya combo, Megastar Chiranjeevi has once again given the green signal to director Bobby for a new project.
The confirmation came directly from writer Kona Venkat in a recent interview with a TV channel, where he revealed that he is working on the screenplay for this film — putting an end to all speculations. He also hinted that this will be Chiranjeevi's next project right after completing Anil Ravipudi’s film.
From this, we can gather another key detail: Chiranjeevi is likely to have a gap before starting the project with Srikanth Odela, as the director is currently busy completing Nani’s Saripodhaa Sanivaaram (Paradise), which may not be wrapped up until March 2026. Only after that can he start working on the "Mega" script. Realistically, that project may take another 6 months to develop.
In the meantime, Chiru can finish Bobby’s film quickly. According to Kona Venkat, this film won’t follow the usual commercial formula like Basha, but will explore a fresh concept while still offering everything fans expect from a Megastar movie.
That puts a lot of pressure on Bobby to deliver a bigger hit than Waltair Veerayya. While Bhagavanth Kesari was a decent hit for Balakrishna under Bobby's direction, many felt it didn’t fully satisfy, especially in the second half and climax. That’s why it settled for second place during the Sankranti clash.
This time, Bobby is determined to avoid such mistakes. Reports suggest the film will be made under KVN Productions, known for Toxic and Jananayakan.
