Chiranjeevi, Sharwanand deliver touching speeches at Sreekaram event

The pre-release event of 'Sreekaram' was held in Khammam on Monday evening. Chiranjeevi graced the occasion as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the Megastar spoke about Sharwanand and said that the actor has been growing from strength to strength in the film industry.

"Sharwanand is a childhood friend of Ram Charan. I don't know when exactly he wanted to become an actor. When I was doing a Thums Up ad many years ago, we needed a young partner to act by my side. I asked Sharwanand to act in that ad. That was perhaps his first onscreen appearance," Chiranjeevi recalled, adding that Sharwa also played a role in 'Shankardada MBBS'.

"I have seen 9 minutes of 'Sreekaram'. Had I had time, I would have watched the entire film at a stretch. Director Kishor B has delivered a relevant message in the right way through the film," the 'Acharya' actor said.

The 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy' actor said that 'Sreekaram' is based on a short film that Kishor had made years ago. The short film had to do with the agriculture sector. "These days, I am reading a lot of news reports on techies quitting their lucrative IT jobs and migrating back to their villages to do farming. This is out of their love for the 'nela thalli'," Chiru added.

Earlier during the event, Sharwanand recalled his association with Chiru and said that 'Shankardada MBBS' was the film that spun his first success. "I am happy that Chiranejevi sir is here today. With him attending this event, 'Sreekaram' has already become a hit. When I was young, Chiranjeevi sir said that God will rewrite destiny if your resolve is strong. His words have always been a source of great strength," the 'Shatamanam Bhavati' actor said.

"I am proud of my friend Ram Charan, who was the first one to call me up soon after the release of this film's trailer. He promised all the support and told his father that 'Sreekaram' deserves support," Sharwa added.

The film, starring Priyanka Arul Mohan as the heroine, will hit the screens on March 11.
