Veteran actor Saravanan started his career as a hero but is best remembered for the Chithappu character he played in Karthi's 'Paruthiveeran' released in 2007. After more than a decade he is in the limelight again after his stint in the 'Bigg Boss 3' hosted by Kamal Haasan.

The first photo of Saravanan along with his two wives and son has gone viral on the internet and it was apparently taken during preparations for the opening ceremony of the Vinayakar Veeramuni temple at Vattakadu, Salem that the actor has built.

Saravanan married Surya Shanthi a classmate of his at the film institute twenty-five years back but the couple did not have any children and with the permission of his first wife he married for the second time and has a son.
