Actor Chiyaan Vikram's father Vinod Raj has passed away last evening, due to age related ailments. 

Vinod Raj, whose original name is John Victor was born in Paramakudi. He married Rajeshwari who was a Sub Collector and also the sister of famous actor-producer-director Thyagarajan. The couple have three children including actor Vikram. 

Vinod Raj has acted in notable supporting roles in films such as 'Ghillie', 'Thirupachi' and 'Thiruttu Payale'.
