Christmas releases become overcrowded at the box office

The next lucrative release date at the box office is on the long Christmas holiday weekend starting on the 20th when Vijay Sethupathi's 'Seethakathi' arrives. The next day on Friday the 21st Jayam Ravi's 'Adanga Maru', Dhanush's 'Maari 2' and Vishnu Vishal's 'Silukkuvarpatti Singam' have announced their releases making it a crowded situation that could result in a huge scramble for theaters.
Trade analysts predict that Superstar Rajinikanth and Shankar's '2.0' could well hold on to many screens in its fourth weekend. It remains to be seen how the Producer Council handles this situation and whether a four-way battle at the box office could be healthy for all films concerned.
