CM relief to filmdom

The Karnataka state budget presented by Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah (he holds record for budget presentation for 13 times) has offered good relief to Kannada filmdom.

To promote tourism in the state at the international level ‘Chalanachitra Pravasodyama Niti’ (film tourism policy) will be introduced and in 20 five star hotels it will be pressed in to action is one of the major policies announced on Friday.

The creative writers and novel film makers have a new offer. ‘Jenugoodu’ the story bank of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy is properly utilized for such producers Rs.20 lakhs and Rs.5 lakhs for writer would be allocated for maximum of 8 films made in a year. That means a producer and director has to pick the subject in the ‘Story Bank’ that is coined as ‘Jenugoodu’.

At the Dr Rajakumar memorial ‘Punya Bhoomi’ a latest Yoga center will be set up. The subsidy for quality films would continue for 125 films Rs.10 lakh each and cinema workers and technicians gets a big relief with Rs.10 crores. It is kept under ‘Chalanachitra Karmikara Fund’ for right utilization.

The monthly pension for artists who are in poor financial condition has been increased from Rs.1000 to Rs.1500. As of now 8330 artists are getting this monthly pension.
