One of the most interesting trailers in recent times is undoubtedly that of 'Comali' directed by Pradeep Ranganathan and starring Jayam Ravi and Kajal Agarwal. It depicts the hilarious results of a coma struck young man waking up after sixteen years to find everything around him changed. At the end of the trailer, there is a shot in which Yogi Babu who plays the friend of Jayam Ravi trying to convince him that it is 2019 and shows a news clip of Superstar Rajinikanth declaring that he is entering politics. Jayam Ravi's character immediately says that he cannot be cheated and that it's 1999 implying that Rajini has been teasing about entering politics from that time.

Rajini's fans and many in the Kollywood industry have expressed their displeasure over this dig at the great actor. Kamal Haasan's Makkal Neethi Maiam representative Murali Appas has shared that Kamal after seeing the 'Comali' trailer immediately called producer Ishari Ganesh and told him that he did not find the troll on his good friend Rajini as humor worthy. It is said that after so much of pressure coming from all quarters and Kamal himself the shot will be removed when the film releases.
