RIP! Comedy actor Thavasi passes away

Popular comedy actor Thavasi passed away early tonight after battling cancer for several months. He was sixty and is survived by his wife and children. Only a few days ago his condition was known to the public after his son Arumugam posted his shockingly impoverished body.

DMK MLA Dr. Saravanan of Thirupurankundram admitted Thavasi to his hospital in Madurai and gave him free treatment but unfortunately, he couldn't survive the dreaded disease.

Actors Vijay Sethupathi and Simbu donated rupees one lakh each to Thavasi when he was in the hospital while Sivakarthikeyan, Robo Shankar, Soori, and Rajinikanth also gave the family financial aides.
