A private organization named India In Pixels has calculated the risk of transmission of COVID-19 in the different Indian States. This calculation is as of June 22. The organization said that the metric is a "ratio of active cases to quarantined people - higher the figure, higher the people out there that can spread the disease."

What is the status of the Telugu States in this? Telangana's position is the second-worst in the country. At 122%, it is in a far worse position than even Maharashtra. In contrast, the other Telugu State (Andhra Pradesh) is among the best performers in the State, with a community transmission risk rate of just 8%.

The worst position is occupied by Delhi (143%). Maharashtra (65%), Gujarat (45%) and Tamil Nadu (38%) pose a headache. Kerala's 0.7% and Karnataka's 8% (like AP's) are success stories. A very large State like Uttar Pradesh has got 18% risk.

The organization has used the Aarogya Setu app data for the purpose.
