Complaint Filed Against TVK Leader Vijay for Allegedly Insulting Muslims at Iftar Event

Chennai: A formal complaint has been lodged against Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay, alleging that he insulted the Muslim community during an Iftar event organized by his party. The complaint was submitted by the Tamil Nadu Sunnath Jamaath at the Chennai Police Commissioner’s office, demanding legal action against Vijay.
According to the complaint, during the Thavek-organized Iftar gathering, statements were made that were derogatory and offensive to Muslims. The Tamil Nadu Sunnath Jamaath has strongly condemned these remarks, asserting that they have hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community.
The organization has urged the police to register a case against Vijay under relevant sections of the law for religious defamation and incitement of communal disharmony. They have also demanded a public apology for the alleged offensive remarks.
The police have acknowledged receipt of the complaint and have assured that an inquiry will be conducted to verify the allegations. If substantial evidence is found, further legal proceedings may be initiated against Vijay.
The incident has sparked discussions among political and religious groups, with calls for responsible conduct during public gatherings, especially in religiously significant events like Iftar.
