Congress may not get even 100 seats: Rajdeep Sardesai

Prominent journalist Rajdeep Sardesai has given his predictions days ahead of the 7th and final phase of polling. Over the last few weeks, he has criss-crossed 12 States and 200 constituencies.

"Based on my observations, I am making the big prediction that the Congress party won't win even 100 seats. It has failed to build on the momentum that the December 2018 victories (read Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh) offered it," Sardesai says.

He sees BJP emerging as the single largest party, while NDA may almost touch the 272 mark. "The X factor is the Uttar Pradesh-West Bengal numbers," he says, adding a caveat.

The counting date is May 23.
