Coronavirus scare: Kerala Polices dance video is viral

Amid the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, the internet enjoyed Kerala Police's 'handwashing dance', that has gone viral and is receiving appreciations from all corners. A video featuring a group of six cops with masks on highlights the importance of washing hands and how people should do it the right way. The fun dance is performed to the tunes of Malayalam Cinema's latest hit Kalakkatha from Prithviraj's film 'Ayyapanum Koshiyum'.

The video was shared by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on his social media pages. The video is part of the state's #BreaktheChain initiative which promotes hygiene habits like washing hands and using hand sanitizers to keep the novel coronavirus at bay.

Talking about the sensational awareness clip, the brainchild of state Police Media Centre Deputy Director V P Pramod and his team, told, "We were planning to do some awareness videos for COVID19 when one of the cops suggested the dance. We wondered if we could dance... But the members of our team decided on the steps and the song and within four hours the clip was ready and uploaded".

With the increasing number of confirmed cases of Corona in the state, the Kerala government has appealed all to promote 'break the chain' campaign as a safety measure.
