The coronavirus updates for today in Tamil Nadu witnessed yet another day of more than 5000 cases with 5881 new cases taking up the total number of patients to 2,45,859 so far. The death toll has risen to 3935 with 97 new deaths in the past twenty-four hours.
With 1013 new cases Chennai and has maintained its average of the past ten days. Among the other districts data Kancheepuram has reported 485 cases and Chengalpattu, Ranipet, Thiruvallur and Virudhunagar have recorded more than 300 cases.
On the positive side 60,276 samples were tested today taking up the total of tests to 26,58,138. 5778 patients have been discharged today taking up the tally of recoveries to 1,83,956.
