Court asks multiplexes to sell food at normal prices

How many of us have frowned upon the exorbitant costs of food being served at multiplexes? Not to mention some of them strictly prohibiting food from outside. Ultimately, this proves to be annoying for the customers, especially those elderly people and others, who have dietary restrictions due to health reasons.

A PIL was filed against the rule of not bringing in food from outside and the Bombay High Court's Justice Kemkar admitted that indeed the prices were exorbitant. "Multiplexes should sell it at the regular price," he stated. Further the court also said if multiplexes objected to outside food, then there must be a total prohibition on eatables and cannot have have their own vendors.

Pertaining to this, the Maharashtra government has stated that it would soon work on a policy for the same. Well, aren't you already thinking about our very own cinema halls now?
