In a shocking incident an Indian software engineer in the US was shot dead by an Amercian Navy veteran last year. Before shooting Srinivas Kuchibhotla, the gunman had shouted ‘get out of my country’ and also had wounded two others in a Kansas bar where the incident happened.

The criminal Adam Purinton(52) has been sentenced to life in prison and he will not be eligible for parole as well for the next 50 years.  Purinton has also been awarded an extra 165 months of prison term pertaining to the wounding of the other two men in the incident.

It should be noted that Kuchibhotla was legal recent of America with a valid work visa during the shooting. The wife of the deceased software engineer has stated her hope that Purinton realise the magnitude of his mistake and work towards penance during his time in prison.
