COVID-19 Effect: 1,500 litres of milk thrown into canal!

The ongoing lockdown has taken a toll on the transport systems and supply chains. Dairy farmers, especially, are finding it too hard to distribute the supply of essential and perishable goods on a timely basis. As a result, thousands of litres of milk have been wasted across the country.

Latest, in Karnataka's Chikkodi, over 1500 litres of milk were thrown in a canal because it couldn't be distributed. Diaries which were buying at Rs 32 per litre now saying will pay only Rs 15, reports CNN-News 18.

Such tragic incidents are causing much worry. Activists and media are demanding that state governments intervene without fail.
