New COVID 19 movie announced with Oscar winner debuting as director

The COVID 19 virus that originated in the Chinese province of Wuhan in November 2019 has now spread across the globe as a pandemic infecting 10,591,470 people and claiming the lives of 514,050 at the time of this writing and counting. Any disaster warrants a movie and Hollywood has just greenlighted one with the working title 'Untitled Wuhan Project'.

The Wuhan project according to Deadline will mark the directorial debut of Charles Randolf who won the Oscar for The Best Adapted Screenplay for the film 'The Big Short' directed by Adam Mackay and starring Christian Bale, Steve Carrell, Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt.

The story deals with the medical fraternity in Wuhan who first discover the novel coronavirus and the dramatic weeks before it turns out into the pandemic it is now. The project produced by SK Global will be filmed in China with an international cast joining the Chinese actors and crew

Randolph has stated " “I’m very happy to be working with everyone at SK Global to get this right. The deeper we dig, the richer the story of Wuhan becomes. It’s one thing to fight a monster. It’s another thing to fight a monster in the dark.”
