Tamil Nadu today crossed the undesirable number of one lakh coronavirus patients after 4,329 new cases tested positive. The total number of infections now stands at 1,02,721. The death toll has risen to 1385 after 64 persons losing their lives to the deadly virus in the past twenty four hours.

Capital city Chennai added 2082 new patients to its tally of 64,689 cases so far. 33 persons have died today out of the 996 deaths so far in the worst affected metro. Chengalput and Madurai have recorded the second and third highest numbers of 330 and 287 cases respectively.

On the positive side the highest number of 34,242 persons were tested today and 2357 patients have been discharged raising the tally of recoveries to 58,378.
