COVID 19 update - 1956/ 3645 new cases reported in Chennai and Tamil Nadu today

The official coronavirus data today for Tamil Nadu has reported the highest-ever single day spike with a massive 3645 new cases shooting up the total number to 74,622. Chennai once again is the main contributor with 1956 cases and now has 49,690 patients. The death toll has reached 957 after 46 persons lost their lives in the past twenty four hours.

1358 patients have been discharged today taking up the tally of recoveries to 41,357. Today also marks the highest testing after 32,317 persons were tested. A total of 1.04 Million tests have been conducted in the state so far which is the highest in India. There is a huge spike in new COVID 19 cases in Chengalpet, Madurai, Thiruvallur and Vellore.
