COVID-19: Kerala records 21 fresh cases, eight districts declared as hotspots!

As each day pass by, the number of COVID-19 positive cases are increasing at an alarming rate. On Thursday, Kerala reported 21 more new positive cases of COVID-19, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. With this, the total number of positive cases in Kerala rose to 286 including the two dead and 28 recovered cases.

One of the confirmed cases is a 27-year-old pregnant woman, a Kollam native. Among the 21 new cases reported today, 2 had taken part in the Tablighi Jamaat religious congregation in Delhi. Of the total, 8 are from Kasaragod district, 5 from Idukki, 2 from Kollam and one each from Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kannur and Kozhikode districts.

At the briefing, Pinarayi Vijayan also declared eight districts in Kerala as hotspots. Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Pathanamthitta and Thiruvananthapuram have been declared as hotspots.

As many as 1,65,934 people are under observation in the state. Among them, 1,65,291 are under isolation at homes while 643 are admitted to hospitals across the state.
