Lockdown: Kerala man arrested for making arrack watching YouTube

At a time when there's increasing suicide cases being reported from various parts of the state after liquor sales were stopped in Kerala following the lockdown, a construction labourer named Chandralal( 37) was arrested by police for illegal production of arrack. The incident happened at Poojapuram, Kerala on Tuesday. Reportedly, one-litre arrack and other equipment were seized from his house.

According to the statement he gave to the Police, he learned to develop and distill arrack using the equipment through a YouTube video. To set this at his home, Chandralal is said to have shifted his wife from the house three days ago.
