COVID-19: Me too convict Harvey Weinstein tests positive

Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein, who is currently serving a 23-year sentence for rape and sexual assault in New York, has tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday. Harvey, who turned 68 last Thursday, is being isolated at Wende Correctional Facility in Western New York. The 68-year-old is one of two inmates at Wende correctional Facility in western New York, to have tested positive for COVID-19.

It is reported that Harvey was infected during his stay at Rikers Island prison and a Manhattan hospital, where he was treated for chest pains. According to local newspapers, the guards at Rikers and New York's Sing Sing prison tested positive for the virus.


He was convicted of raping ex-actress Jessica Mann in 2013 and of forcibly performing oral sex on former production assistant Mimi Haleyi in 2006. Nearly 90 women, including dozens of Hollywood employees and actresses, including Angelina Jolie and Uma Turman, have accused Weinstein of sexual harassment, with some of the accusations dating back as far as 1980. However, Weinstein has denied all charges pressed against him, insisting all his sexual relationships were consensual.
