Dad Dupes Daughter, For Harasser

29 year old German Acosta was in for a rude shock when his WhatsApp date turned up nowhere close to what he had expected. Acosta is under charges for online harassment and grooming - the crime of befriending a child to lure them to perform sexual acts. Argentinian lad Acosta is alleged to have contacted young Ms Rodriguez, aged 11, over WhatsApp, and approached her with the intent of sexual harassment. The racquet came to light when the pre teen reported Acosta's behaviour to her father, Walter Rodriguez.

From his daughter, Rodriguez learnt that Acosta had been sharing inappropriate pictures with her, and had also persuaded the child to return the favour; the accused had also pressed the little girl for a date, by lying to her parents. Upon understanding the seriousness of the issue, Rodriguez pretended to be the daughter himself, and giving into having a date, which was set up at Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, Rodriguez lunged for Acosta, punching him down, also taking his picture and sharing it with a warning on social media, all before the police arrived. Rodriguez has also been booked for battery charges, in this case. Despite charges on both parties, neither have been detained.

Such a crime could land Acosta, a jail term anywhere between 6 months and 4 years. Argentina has already seen a similar case last year, which ended in the murder of a 12 year old by Jonathan Luna, who she had met on Facebook; Luna is serving a lifetime in prison, for the crime.
