A competitive situation has emerged between two renowned Indian directors, Rajkumar Hirani and S.S. Rajamouli, over making a biopic on Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema.

A few days ago, it was reported that Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani are teaming up again for a new film project. Given their past blockbuster collaborations like "3 Idiots" and "PK", the news generated enormous excitement. The film is officially confirmed now and said to be based on the life of Dadasaheb Phalke, with shooting expected to begin in October.
