Warners wife sex scandal reason for Ball tampering episode?

Australian and world cricket has lost two of the best batsmen David Warner and Steve Smith who have been banned for a year due to the ball tampering episode that unfolded in the recently concluded third test between Australia and South Africa.  Candice Warner in an interview has taken the blame on herself  tearfully stating  “I feel like it’s all my fault and it’s killing me — it’s absolutely killing me,”.

In 2007 Candice was involved in a sex scandal with New Zealand rugby player Sonny Bill Williams in a hotel bathroom.  Images show that South African fans wore masks of Williams and gave mental torture to the Warners.  SA wicket keeper Quintin de kok too is said to have taunted Warner about the incident which resulted in the two almost coming to blows.

Candice Warner in her interview has added "I never want to do a 'poor me' story or anything like that whatsoever. But seeing them wearing the masks, to have people staring and pointing and laughing at me, to have the signs, to have, you know, the songs made up about me, I would have to sit there and cop that. "And he (David) had to just cope with it, he was protecting me as much as he could and protecting the girls. I’m sure there were things he wanted to say but he just couldn’t get it out. He is hurting. He is seriously, seriously struggling and he’s not in a great headspace.”.

David Warner earlier in his press meet had also tearfully stated " "I can honestly say I've only ever wanted to bring glory to my country through playing cricket. In striving to do so, I've made a decision that has had the opposite effect and it's one that I will regret for as long as I live."
