Dawood Ibrahims brother denies Covid-19 infection rumour

On Friday, it was widely reported by sections of the Indian media that underworld don and fugitive Dawood Ibrahim and his wife have contracted Covid-19. The reports added that they have been taking treatment at the Army Hospital in Pakistan's Karachi. By Friday night, there was this rumour doing the rounds on the Internet that Dawood has succumbed to the infection and died at the hospital.

If his brother Anees Ibrahim's statement to IANS is anything to go by, Dawood is fine. Neither he nor anybody in his family has contracted the virus. Anees, who takes care of the D-company’s shady operations, hasn't elaborated on the issue. Anees said that Dawood is "running a business in the UAE and Pakistan".

As for the media, it says that not just the couple but also their personal staff and guards have been placed under quarantine.
