Bollywood mourns the demise of Andrew Symonds

Veteran Australian cricket allrounder Andrew Symonds passed away on Saturday evening after being involved in a car crash in Queensland, Australia. This incident came just couple months after the demise of another Australian cricket giant, Shane Warne and it has shocked cricket fans all around the world. Soon after the news of Symonds' passing came out, several Bollywood stars took to their social media to express grief and condolances.

Actor-filmmaker Farhan Akhtar tweeted a photo of the late cricketer and wrote, "In a series of heartbreaks for Australian cricket and cricket lovers worldwide. RIP #AndrewSymonds .. a terrific competitor who on his day, could turn any game on its head.. condolences to the family.”

Arjun Rampal tweeted, "This is too sad, woke up to this tragic news Andrew Symonds, fatal car accident. Prayers and condolences to his family. #RIPAndrewSymonds." Sanjay Dutt, on the other hand, wrote, "Deeply shocked to hear about one of cricket's finest #AndrewSymonds. Thoughts and prayers with his family. May God bless his soul. RIP Legend!"

Since he was an important part of IPL franchise Mumbai Indians, Andrew Symonds had a significant fanbase in India as well. He will be fondly remembered by many for his entertaining style of playing and unique on field look.
