Destination Madurai for directors

The success of recent movies including Kadhal, Sandai Kozhi and Thimiru has made Madurai a favorite destination for Tamil producers and directors.

Films which centered around Madurai went on to become big hits last year.

As a result now over a half-dozen movies are being shot in and around the temple town of Madurai.

Bharath starrer Koodal Nagar and Khilladi, Mana Madurai, Sarath starrer Vaitheeswaran, S J Suryah's Thirumagan among others, are being shot in and around Madurai.

Tamil film industry is driven by sentiments. Now that Madurai has become a favorite destination for production houses, obviously studios in Chennai have started to wear deserted looks.
