Devadas Kanakala is no more

Devadas Kanakala (74) has on Friday breathed his last.  He had been taking treatment at Hyderabad’s KIMS Hospital for an ailment.  

A theatre actor, Kanakala acted in a number of movies in negative and character roles, besides directing movies such as ‘Chali Cheemalu’ and ‘Nagamalli’.  Training wannabe actors was always his first passion.  By setting up an acting institute in Hyderabad, Kanakala tried his best to make acting training reachable.  

His son, Rajeev Kanakala, and daughter-in-law, Suma, are well-known celebs.  An affable personality, he was widely respected for his passion for cinema.  ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ is his last movie.
