Devathaiyai Kandaen

Thursday, January 1, 1970 • தமிழ் Comments

Dhanush has just found his devadhai in real life. He is now trying to find one on the screen. His chequered career has almost come to a grinding halt with three consecutive flops-  Pudukottailiundhu Saravanan, Sullan and the more recent Dreams.

So the lanky hero has pinned all his hopes on his forthcoming release Devadhaiyay Kandein, which is directed by a debutant Bhoopathy Pandian and produced by Khaja Mohideen.

"I am hopeful of a big success in the movie", Dhanush, who recently married Rajnikanth's daughter Aishwarya, says. Speaking about the film, Boopathy Pandian says, '"The hero sells tea to eke out a livelihood. His character has no heroism and Dhanush just fit the bill".

The film is a combination of comedy and sentiments. Perhaps for the first time, Dhanush has tried his hand at humour. He along with Paravai Muniamma is said to done a nice job in earthy humour. The comedy of Karunaas, Mayilsamy and Sathyan will be one of highlights of the films.

The director says, "the climax is also be another talking point of the movie. It will be gripping and it is something that has not been attempted in Tamil cinema ever".

For the heroine Sri Devi, this is an important movie, too.

Vasoolraja MBBS fame Ragasiya and Mumtaz appear for a couple of peppy numbers, while Dhanush himself has lent his voice for a song. Deva has come out with his usual mix of melody and mass numbers.

"With romance, humour and action at right-mix, my Devadhyay Kandein would be the perfect film for audience this winter", the director says.

Will it be?
