The Tamil film industry is currently witnessing a major box office clash between two highly anticipated releases-Devil's Double Next Level and Maaman. The former is a horror-comedy directed by S Prem Anand and stars Santhanam alongside Geethika Tiwary, Selvaraghavan, and Gautham Vasudev Menon. The latter, an action drama, is helmed by Prasanth Pandiyaraj and features Soori with Aishwarya Lekshmi and Rajkiran in prominent roles. Both films were released on May 16 and have received positive initial reviews, leading to constant comparisons.

On Day 2, according to Cinetrak, Devil's Double Next Level collected ₹2.59 crores in Tamil Nadu, showing marginal growth. Meanwhile, Maaman witnessed a 33% rise in earnings, bringing in ₹2.04 crores. Although Devil's Double maintains a slight edge, Maaman is rapidly gaining momentum.

By Day 3 (Sunday), Maaman took the lead at the Tamil Nadu box office. A Sacnilk report states that by 3:30 PM, Maaman had earned ₹1.55 crores whereas Devil's Double Next Level stood at ₹1.26 crores. The coming days will reveal whether Maaman can overtake Devil's Double at the box office.
