In the recent press interaction for Thanga Magan`promotions, Dhanush replying to a query about his on screen smoking in films like Maari` said that it is the director`s wish to make the Dadha character more believable and as an actor it is his duty to abide.

Unrelenting pressmen drew comparison`s with Rajinikanth who plays a don in Kabali` but still refused to smoke on screen, Dhanush was quick to reply that the Superstar majestic presence is enough to convince audiences while "Sumaar moonji Kumar" actors like himself need to go the extra mile to do justice to the roles.
