Pan Indian actor Dhanush made the sudden announcement on January 17th evening that he is splitting from his wife Aishwarya Rajinikanth with whom he was married for eighteen years.

He released a statement that read "18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other..The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting...Today we stand at a place where our paths separate...Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Later Aishwarya also released a similar statement to confirm that they are indeed heading for a divorce. Meanwhile Soundarya Rajinikanth the younger sister of Aishwarya has posted a childhood photo of the sisters embracing their dad Rajinikanth. Though she has only captioned it as her new profile pic netizens are construing that she is reacting to the divorce.
