Dhanush needs no introduction among Tamils and pretty much the rest of the country as his fame has grown far and wide due to his talent and hardwork. Bollywood filmmaker R. Balki who made 'Shamitabh' with Dhanush and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead has shared his dream of making a biopic on Isaigniani Ilayaraja starring Dhanush.

In one of his recent interviews to promote his new film 'Ghoomer' Balki stated "My dream is to make Ilaiyaraaja's biopic with Dhanush. I see Raja sir in him because in some way, Dhanush's face looks like that of the master composer, lyricist, singer who has scored music for over 1,000 feature films in a career spanning five decades. He's also the first Asian to score a symphony for the London Philharmonic Orchestra."

Balki added "For both of us, it would be a dream come true to see him play the maestro on screen. So, on his 40th birthday, I just want to say that if I ever make this film, it would be the biggest gift I can give Dhanush because like me, he is also one of Raja sir's biggest fans."

There is a high likelihood of Dhanush okaying such a project if it ever comes up as he has time and again emphasized that he reveres Ilayaraja and the maestro too has shared his admiration for the all rounder. It would also be easy for him to play the role as he too writes lyrics, sings songs and can also play musical instruments. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Dhanush's magnum opus 'Captain Miller' directed by Arun Matheswaran and costarring Priyanka Mohan and Shivarajkumar is releasing worldwide in theaters on December 15th. He is currently starring in and directing 'D50' bankrolled by Sun Pictures with A.R. Rahman scoring the music. The film stars Dhanush, Amala Paul, Aparna Balamurali, Dushara Vijayan, Anikha Surendran, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Selvaraghavan and S.J. Suryah.
