Right from the time of the 1950s when Tamil cinema started evolving into the premier entertainment medium of Tamils fans have always placed two of their most favorite stars on pedestals at opposite ends and the star rivalry started. Over the years the MGR vs Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth vs Kamal Haasan, and Ajith vs Vijay is what have driven the market, business, and the mood of the fans in theaters.

In the modern era fans have pitted Dhanush and Simbu against each other due to their entry and ascension has been in the same period of time. However the stars themselves in spite of their different styles and backgrounds have been close friends but their fans always battle on social media.

In the recently released film 'Easwaran' Simbu mouths a line to the villain which roughly translates to "If you have come as an Asuran to destroy I have come as Easwaran to protect". The line was seen as a dig at Dhanush referencing his recent critically acclaimed film 'Asuran'. Dhanush fans condemned the punchline on social media as well.

Now Dhanush has changed his bio on his Twitter account to ASURAN/Actor and his fans see this as a subtle but strong reply to Simbu. However this may just be co-incidence and there could be another important reason as well.

Dhanush fans have now started calling him "Nadippin Asuran' which is actor par excellence and Selvaraghavan is also planning to give him an apt prefix in the title of their upcoming movie 'Naane Varuven'. Dhanush could have changed his bio to oblige his brother as well as his fans.

Well anyway the Dhanush-Simbu fans war has already started on social media and this could be the trending topic for the many more days to come.
