Dhanush's Telugu-Tamil bilingual 'SIR' is up for a theatrical release on February 17, 2023. On Tuesday, its second single titled 'Banjara' was unveiled by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.

Rendered by Anurag Kulkarni, its lyrics have been penned by the profound writer Suddala Ashok Teja. Speaking about the song, the lyricist said that it is not just situational but also draws its thoughts from the teachings of Adi Shankara and the Bhagavad Gita. We hear Dhanush's character (he is a lecturer) say that nothing belongs to us, and that Nature ridicules humans who think the resources belong to them.

Through the song, director Venky Atluri conveys the feeling that Dhanush's protagonist is a selfless traveller who is not attached to anything. Music director GV Prakash Kumar (who also makes an appearance in the lyrical video alongside the singer, the hero, and a group of dancers) deploys the electric guitar, nadaswaram, flute, and strings.

Co-starring Malayalam star Samyuktha Menon (on whom and Dhanush the recently-released song 'Maastaru Maastaru' is shot), Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Thotapalli Madhu, Narra Sreenu, Pammi Sai, Hyper Adhi and others, the film story revolves around the education mafia.
