The upcoming film Gayapadda Simham, directed by Kashyap Srinivas and featuring Tharun Bhascker in a key role, is generating solid buzz with its unique promotional content. Backed by Pawan Sadineni and produced by Kalyan Chakravarthy Manthina, Bhanu Kiran Pratap, Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni, and Umesh Bansal under Saptaswa Media Works, POV Stories, and Zee Studios, the film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1.

Actor J. D. Chakravarthy, who plays a pivotal role in the film, shared interesting insights during a recent media interaction.

Speaking about his character, he said, “The role of Dharma in ‘Gayapadda Simham’ gave me immense satisfaction as an actor. It’s not just about having two shades; what excited me is that the character appears the same throughout, yet carries two completely different layers. That’s something audiences will understand when they watch the film.”

Highlighting what drew him to the role, JD Chakravarthy added, “Any role with a strong character arc excites an actor. I’ve always admired Kamal Haasan sir’s performances no one in the world has done roles like him. But in this film, I feel I got an opportunity, in terms of character, that even he hasn’t explored.”

Describing the film’s tone, he revealed that Gayapadda Simham blends realism with hilarious humor. “My character is called ‘Brutal Dharma’, but what I do on screen will actually make the audience laugh. I found the script extremely entertaining and couldn’t stop laughing while listening to it,” he said.

Praising director Kashyap Srinivas, he noted, “Kashyap is very confident and brings a distinct style shaped by his experience in short films and web series. This is purely a director’s film we followed exactly what he envisioned without adding external inputs.”

He also hinted at the narrative’s intriguing structure, mentioning that multiple key characters, including the one played by Tharun Bhascker, intersect in an engaging way. “In this film, not just one lion is wounded Tharun Bhascker, myself, and another character too. Who that third one is will be revealed soon,” he said, adding to the curiosity.

Talking about his career choices, JD Chakravarthy emphasized that he has always been selective. “I never rushed into films. I only take up projects when the story excites me,” he shared.

On the impact of OTT platforms, he observed, “Today, content is king. For a film to work in theatres, it must be strong. Audiences have many options now if they don’t like a film, they won’t watch it anywhere. But if they do like it, they won’t wait for OTT; they’ll go straight to theatres.”

With its blend of realistic storytelling, quirky humor, and compelling characters, Gayapadda Simham promises to be a refreshing entertainer when it hits screens on May 1.
