Director Naganna Kurukshetra, start with a song

One of the most talented director from the days of ‘Samrat’ (starring Dr Vishnuvardhana) Naganna is taking up another lavish project a mythological film ‘Kurukshetra’ from the point of view of Duryodhana. The stage is set for launch on 6th of August, the first day of shoot at Hyderabad is on 9th of August – a romantic song on Duryodhana played by challenging star Darshan and charming beauty Haripriya is planned to begin with.

Naganna getting down from the Bengaluru Airport in a quick chat stated that it is a biggest responsibility on his shoulders with very beautiful script arrived by GK Bharavi who had written script for films like Sri Manjunatha, Ramadasa, Sri Annamayya and others. Producer Munirathna Naidu sitting MLA of Karnataka and noted producer has given his best resources to this film says the humble director Naganna speaking over telephone.

Tamil action king Arjun – Arjun Sarja to Kannadigas adds to the list of over 25 prominent actors in this ‘Kurukshetra’. The role of best friend of Duryodhana – Karnataka will be announced soon.

The epic Mahabaratha could be told from the point of Sri Krishna, Shakuni, Panchali, Karna, Duryodhana, Bheema and other point of view. We are telling this particular ‘Kurukshetra’ from Duryodhana point of view and Darshan shown tremendous interest for his role.

We have Kiran Kumar as art director; Jai Vincent who worked for various Telugu films like Gopala Gopala, Gabbar Singh etc is the man behind camera. V Harikrishna has six songs and a few bits. We have on board King Solomon of Baahubali in action, and Durga Prasad of Maakuta is working on graphics says Naganna.

Naganna known for a few successful films starring Dr Vishnuvardhana has found a huge hit of his career with ‘Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna’ a historical film. Naganna in the past directed films like Samrat, Lady Police, Hello Daddy, Lady Commissioner, O Premave, Soorappa, Kotigobba, Amma Ninna Tolinalli, Prama Kaidhi, Gokarna, Kutumba, Chappale, Vishnu Sene, Gowramma, Bandu Balaga, Dubai Babu – this Kurukshetra is equal to half a dozen films making in size and substance.
