Director Sundarajan is known for his silver jubilee films such as 'Payanangal Mudivathillai', 'Vaideki Kaathirunthaal', 'Rajadhi Raja', 'Thirumathi Pazhaniswamy' and many others. He is also a much-loved comedy actor and is currently involved in politics too as a speaker for the ruling AIADMK party. A rumour started doing the rounds on social media that the veteran was in a serious health condition and some even suggested the extreme.

Sundarrajan's son Ashok Sundarrajan has posted a photograph with his dad and clarified on his facebook page Hi guys , This is my father R.Sundarrajan (film director & actor) he is all good and he'S IN shooting for a movie in Chennai .. Sundarrajan in his latest political speech has harshly criticized Rajinikanth saying that the Superstar after starting his own party would not even physically survive travelling from Coimbatore to Tirupur conducting his first political meeting.
