Director Rajkumar Periyasamy Reflects on Pahalgam Memories Amid Tragic Attack

In the wake of the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 28 tourists and left many others injured, voices from across the country have condemned the act and expressed their sorrow. Among them is filmmaker Rajkumar Periyasamy, who shared a heartfelt message on social media, recalling his time filming Amaran in the very location where the tragedy occurred.
He wrote:
“The Pahalgam terrorist attack, and the immense suffering it has caused to innocent families, is a brutal blow to humanity, peace, and progress.”
Periyasamy, who had spent time in the scenic region during the shoot of Amaran, spoke fondly of the people and the place:
“Pahalgam is not just breathtakingly beautiful—it’s a major tourist destination in Kashmir, drawing over 2 crore visitors each year. The memories I made while filming there are unforgettable. The locals were incredibly warm and welcoming.”
He ended his message with a strong call for justice and compassion:
“The real perpetrators must be brought to justice. My heartfelt prayers go out to the families of the victims and to those recovering from injuries.”
His post adds to the growing chorus of voices calling for unity, peace, and accountability in the face of senseless violence.
