The Tamil film industry is mourning the sudden demise of director S. S. Stanley, known for his work with actors Dhanush and Srikanth. He passed away at the age of 58 after battling health issues for the past few days. According to reports, he died due to lack of timely medical treatment.
S. S. Stanley made his directorial debut in 2002 with April Maadhathil, starring Srikanth. The film was well received and marked a promising start to his career. He went on to direct Pudhukottaiyilirundhu Saravanan with Dhanush, and later returned to work with Srikanth in Mercury Pookkal and Kizhakku Kadarkarai Salai.
Though he directed only four films, Stanley also appeared as an actor in a few notable projects. His performance as former Chief Minister Annadurai in the biopic Periyar was particularly appreciated.
His final rites will be conducted this evening at the Valasaravakkam Electric Crematorium, according to his family. Several members of the film fraternity have visited to pay their respects, with tributes pouring in across social media from fans and colleagues alike.
