It seems like the wedding bells are ringing not only in Bollywood but also in Kollywood. Director Shankar's elder daughter, Aishwarya Shankar, has recently gotten engaged to Tarun Karthik, who is an assistant director under Shankar. The news has created quite a buzz on social media, with fans and well-wishers showering the couple with love and blessings.

The engagement ceremony, which took place on Sunday, was a truly joyous occasion. Aishwarya was a vision of elegance in a traditional saree, beautifully complemented by her heavy gold jewelry. Tarun looked equally stylish in his white attire, adding a touch of grace to the event.

Aditi Shankar, the younger daughter of director Shankar and an actress herself, shared the excitement of the moment with several happy photos from the festivities. Her Instagram Stories featured a heartwarming caption: "And they are engaged," further adding to the celebratory mood surrounding the event. The photos from the engagement have since been widely circulated on social media, with fans and well-wishers showering the couple with love and blessings.

This is not the first time that Aishwarya has made headlines for her wedding. She was previously married to cricketer Rohit in June 2021, in a beautiful ceremony organized by Shankar at a luxury resort in Mahabalipuram. The wedding, which took place during the Covid-19 pandemic, was attended by several prominent personalities, including Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin.

However, Rohit's past has been marred by controversy. He was embroiled in a legal case when a 16-year-old girl filed a sexual harassment complaint against cricket coach Thamarai Kannan, alleging Rohit's involvement as well. In light of these events, Shankar decided to call off a planned reception that was supposed to take place in May 2022, which was intended to invite the film industry. The reasons for this cancellation were not officially disclosed, but speculation suggested it was related to the POSCO case and Rohit's alleged involvement.
