The sad news has just arrived that frontline commercial director Siruthai Siva's father Jayakumar has passed away today due to natural causes. He is survived by his wife son Siva, younger son Bala and grandchildren.

Jayakumar was the son of legendary producer A.K. Velan and was a respected documentary photographer. While his younger son Siva followed his footsteps and became a cinematographer before turning to direction and gave four back to back super hits with Ajith. He is currently directing Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Annaathe'.

Jayakumar's younger son Bala chose to become an actor and is one of the leading heroes in Malayalam cinema. The funeral of Jayakumar is expected to be held in Chennai on Saturday 28th November and the details will be announced later.
